FAQ
Q: What are the system requirements? A: Whether you run Windows, Mac OSX or Linux, our provided solution is available for all platforms. Users also require a broadband connection with appropriate data limits. If you are not sure that your equipment or internet connection is appropriate, please contact us. Q: Is my data transfer secure? A: Yes. Data is encrypted with a key (password) of your choosing or can be randomly generated. Data traffic between your computer and the data centre uses SSL to establish a secure, encrypted communication channel. This ensures that any data (usernames, passwords, and content) cannot be intercepted and read by a third-party. Q: How is my data protected at the data centre? A: In addition to encryption, files stored at the data centre are kept secure physically, with Keycard protocols, biometric scanning protocols and round-the-clock interior and exterior surveillance monitor access. Only authorised personnel are granted access credentials to the data centre. No one else can enter the production area of the data centre without prior clearance and an appropriate escort. Q: How is data redundancy achieved? A: Data redundancy is achieved by replicating three full copies of your data on different storage nodes. Storage nodes are grouped in logical Zones within the data centre. These zones are connected to redundant Internet backbone providers and reside on redundant power supplies and generators. The system has been engineered in such a way as to continue to by fully functional even in the event of a major service disruption within the data centre. Q: Can my deleted data be accessed? A: When files are deleted from your backup, all copies of the data are permanently removed within a matter of minutes. Furthermore, the physical blocks making up your data are zeroed over before that space is re-used. In other words, after a delete request, the data will be unrecoverable within the data centre. Q: How much data can be stored? A: Keystone offer 2gb, 5gb and 10gb packages which cover most customers requirements. We are also able to provide larger enterprise storage solution, for enterprise solutions call us and we can provide you with a quote. Q: How easy is Keystone Remote Backup to setup? A: Our software is quick and easy for the novice user and highly customisable for advanced user. Keystone Systems offers a setup and configuration service to orientate and make sure your data is backed up correctly. [back to top]
